The Obama Administration is deciding whether global warming pollution is a danger to human health, and deciding whether to regulate it.
This month they are asking for public input on their decision, and we've got to make sure that they listen to us and not big oil and coal.

Capitol Climate Action was a SUCCESS!

Despite the freezing cold temperatures and snowy weather, several thousand people attended the largest mass civil disobedience against global warming in U.S. history! And we were there!

I must admit, when I awoke to find eight inches of snow on my car, I was immediately depressed by what seemed to be ill-fated irony. How could there be a freak snowstorm on the same day we are scheduled to meet with thousands of protesters to rally for a green energy revolution?

When Jim and I arrived in the city, we half expected for there to be only a small number of die-hard activists willing to bare the conditions. We were overjoyed as we could hear the echos of the crowd from the metro station two blocks away. Surrounded by thousands of young people, I was filled with a sense of pride for my generation. This is truly the first time that I have had that experience and with a movement of this magnitude I am sure I will be experiencing that feeling again!

This is only the beginning of the movement that will shape the future of our generation, our country, our planet, and our species as a whole. We have a long road ahead, but for the moment we are enjoying the success of our efforts for Capitol Climate Action.

Hello to fans of Woven Green,

Jim and I have been involved in some volunteer work for Greenpeace and would like to take the opportunity to tell you how you can get involved.

First, let me fill you in the the specifics of the issue that we are currently working on.

THE PROBLEM:

-Big coal = big problems

-Coal fired power plants are responsible for nearly 40% of global warming pollution.

-More than 100 new coal plants have been proposed in the US.

THE SOLUTIONS:

-Wind energy is the fastest growing energy source.

-19 million households in Europe already get their energy from wind.

-The energy generated by the sun in 20 days is equal to the energy of all the coal, oil and natural gas buried underground.

-With the right leadership in Washington, we could all be getting our energy from the wind and sun.

HOW TO TAKE ACTION:

All you need to do is make a phone call! It only takes 5 minutes!

On March 2, 2009, thousands of activists will be rallying at the Capitol Climate Coal-fired Power Plant in Washington, DC - a coal plant that literally powers Congress with dirty energy.

At the same time, we hope to generate at least 10,000 calls to Congress.

The mission is to send a powerful message of urgency through PEACEFUL civil disobedience and creative direct communication. There has never been an American tradition more noble, and it is needed now more than ever to stop the climate crisis.

Join thousands of citizens, young and old, who are taking action to lead us toward ecological sanity and sustainability.

Your willing to do your part. Tell our members of Congress to do theirs!

Support STRONG legislation on clean energy.

Husband-and-wife Jim and Ashley Cash with their band Woven Green, perform original progressive folk rock. Their music ranges from energetic and empowering to hypnotic and introspective. In an expressive display of versatility, the band presents well-crafted songs that result in a sound that is at once nostalgic, fresh and new.

Songwriter Jim Cash's emotionally evocative songs - many of them allegories of Today's cultural and environmental issues - weave together threads of the mystical and spiritual. Vocalist Ashley Cash wraps her soulful and ethereal voice around life-affirming lyrics that inspire a greater sense of self and one's connection with others. Their music is both environmentally and spiritually focused and offers a positive outlook on the challenges that currently face humanity.

Woven Green's tasteful and dynamic arrangements are engaging and have far-reaching appeal.
